The $1000 Kobe Beef Shawarma Sandwich!

image

Would you pay $1000 for a Kobe shawarma? No, really, this is a serious question. After all, we did. Wanting the best of the best, with no regard to cost, we bought 10 pounds of ribeye Kobe beef – are you ready for this – a whopping $110/lb.! Like I said, we wanted the best of the best!

Slicing the beef very thin, we seasoned it and started building our Kobe shawarma tower. What a sight! The tower went up quickly as we waited in mouth-watering anticipation. We kept it simple – sea salt, black pepper, garlic, and fresh thyme. A perfectly symmetrical shawarma. Oh.my.goodness.

imageOnce it was ready to cook, we placed the Kobe shawarma on our Spinning Grillers Shawarma Machine. For 10 minutes, we blasted the heat on high before lowering it and spinning that beautiful tower of beef for another 10 minutes. Mesmerized by its aroma, we stood around the Kobe shawarma salivating, awaiting the first slice. We were not disappointed. The meat was tender and juicy with flavor so intense, the Shawarma proved itself to be worth every pretty penny.

image Pulling freshly baked, piping hot pita bread from the Spinning Grillers Pita Oven simply added to the intoxicating aromas surrounding us. We sliced open the pita and stuffed it full of the beautiful juicy Kobe beef shawarma, then topped it with some tahini, fresh tomatoes, garlic cilantro chimichurri, and a spoonful of freshly homemade hot sauce.

$1000 for a shawarma? Absolutely. And, like I said, it was worth every penny. Sometimes you just have to treat yourself!
